Conflict Convowas a WDR 2011 initiative aimed at sparking a broad and inclusive conversation about the experience of conflict in today's world. Videos, photos, emails, and social media submissions were sent in from around the globe.
DRC Speaks: In September 2010, more than 4 million Congolese received an SMS message asking them to take part in the largest mobile polling ever conducted. With innovative mobile GeoPoll technology powered by Mobile Accord, the survey allowed tens of thousands of Congolese to tell the world their thoughts, opinions, and even their hopes for a better Congo through a series of weekly questions.
Faces of Conflict:A collection of stories and interviews with individuals on their personal experiences with conflict. Some free-form, others based on sets of standardized questions intended to explore the key themes and hypotheses of the WDR. These eye-witness accounts come from Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gaza, Israel, and the West Bank.
